The annual Queen’s Birthday honours list is an opportunity for the community to reflect on and take note of people who are the best at what they do, and more importantly, are passionate about their work.

Some people work 12 hours a day operating on sick people, others donate millions of dollars to help those in need, and some, like Brigetta Paneth, give hours of their time to the most vulnerable.

Included in this year’s list is Walter Blumenfeld, who sadly died in 2016 after a fall. Blumenfeld, who was born in Berlin in 1930, was the oldest volunteer of the ACT State Emergency Services.
