Kesser Torah College suffers storm damage

SYDNEY’s Kesser Torah College was extensively damaged during last weekend’s storms and flash flooding.

The weather “played havoc” with the campus according to acting principal Samuel Gurewicz, who said the damage to the campus included “flooding in some rooms, doors blowing off or buckling open and broken shade-cloths”.

There was also broken glass covering some play areas, and parts of the fence were completely destroyed.

Staff have been “just incredible” in the clean-up effort, Gurewicz said.

“They all turned up early in the morning, even the part-time staff who didn’t have to be there.

“You could look out a window and see a group of mathematics teachers holding brooms. It’s just been wonderful. The unity in the response from the staff was very positive.”
