‘Business as usual’ following security scare
THE Community Security Group (CSG) in NSW insists it will be “business as usual” for Shabbat services, after an online threat against Sydney’s Central Synagogue triggered a large-scale police operation on Sunday night.
There were 343 antisemitic incidents reported to CSG in 2018.

Premier’s praise for Israel
SEVENTY years of independence for Israel – a state that embodies "the best of Jewish tradition, free speech and debate, innovation, ingenuity and above all else, resilience", according to NSW Premier Gladys Berejiklian – was celebrated at a Yom Ha'atzmaut reception on Monday night with over 700 attendees including political figures and interfaith leaders.
