Israel-NSW ties endure
ISRAELI ambassador to Australia Mark Sofer announced unequivocally at Israel's 71st Independence Day celebration on Tuesday evening that the Jewish community of NSW is one of the best, if not the best, community he has worked with during his 39 years in the foreign ministry.
Over 1000 students and staff from Bialik College formed the largest human menorah ever on May 9, 2019, Israel's Independence Day.

Premier’s praise for Israel
SEVENTY years of independence for Israel – a state that embodies "the best of Jewish tradition, free speech and debate, innovation, ingenuity and above all else, resilience", according to NSW Premier Gladys Berejiklian – was celebrated at a Yom Ha'atzmaut reception on Monday night with over 700 attendees including political figures and interfaith leaders.

Melbourne turns blue and white
ISRAELI flags fluttered, clutched in the hands of many amidst the sea of blue and white. Many happy faces were adorned with a painted Magen David, and Hebrew tunes were carried aloft upon the twilight breeze. The smell of falafel was in the air, as was a palpable love for Israel. This was Yom Ha'atzmaut 70 – Melbourne style.

Yom Ha’atzmaut celebrated in Israel
In elaborate birthday celebrations, Israelis covered their country with barbecues, waved blue and white flags, and brought the skies to life with fireworks and flyovers.
